■Baguio City（バギオ市）Philippines Summer Capital（夏の首都）
〇Baguio is located about 250 kilometers north of Manila in a region called the Northern Philippines or the Cordillera. It is no wonder about it being the highest city in the country since it is located right atop the Cordillera Mountains in the province of Benguet with an elevation of at least 1,500 meters above sea level! It is about 5 to 6-hour drive via the zigzag routes of Kennon Road, Marcos Highway or Naguilian Road, or a 45-minute flight from Manila to the City's Loakan Airport.

〇BAGUIO - Situated amid pine-covered hills, with its cool climate, it is the Philippines' summer capital. This city lies within Benguet Province and is about 45 minutes flight from Manila or six (6 hours) by land. It is a major tourist destination and the nearest thing to a mountain retreat this tropical, humid country possesses. The city market is one of the country's best, overflowing with handicrafts, strawberries and vegetables from the surrounding highlands.
Tourists can visit the many beautiful spots in Baguio City starting with Burnham Park and Wright Park. Baguio is also home to the Philippine Military Academy, the "West Point" of the country.

〇Shopping is another favorite activity in Baguio. Mines View Park, St. Louis School, Narda Handicrafts, Baguio City Market and the Good Shepherd Convent sell souvenir items from wood carvings to fruit preserves.
Camp John Hay , formerly the rest and recreation station of U.S. military troops, maintains the best recreational facilities in Baguio. An 18-hole golf course, one of the most challenging in the country, is the Camp痴 pride and joy.
ショッピングはバギオのもう1つのお気に入りのアクティビティです。マインズビューパーク、セントルイススクール、ナルダの手工芸品、バギオシティマーケット、グッドシェパードコンベントでは、木彫りから果物の保存品までお土産を販売しています。
キャンプジョンヘイ（以前は米軍の休息およびレクリエーションステーション）は、バギオで最高のレクリエーション施設を維持しています。国内で最も挑戦的なコースの1つである18ホールのゴルフコースは、キャンプの誇りと喜びです。
・General Information
The province of Batangas is bounded on the north by the provinces of Cavite and Laguna, on the south by the Verde Island Passage, on the east by the provinces of Quezon and Laguna, and on the west by the South China Sea. It has a land area of 316,580 hectares.

・INTERESTING PLACES
〇Anilao is the spot for divers and snorkel. There are several diving centers here where you can arrange trips to diving spots in Balayan Bay near Cape Bagalangit and near Sombrero and Maricaban Islands. Snorkeling is good off Maricaban's Cemetary Beach, Red Palm Beach, and around Sepok Point. Although the beach at Anilao is not really good for swimming, you can rent thatched bamboo rafts with tables and benches at the Anilao Beach Resort and other resorts there.

〇The beaches in Nasugbu are also worth visiting. There is White Sands and the other beaches at Natipuan, which can be reached by outrigger boat. If you're looking for a place to stay, you can go to White Sands Beach Resort, Maya-Maya Reef Club (there's a dive shop here), and Fortune Island. Day trips to Fortune Island can be arranged at negotiable rates. If you want to go camping, you can stay overnight at Munting Buhangin.

〇The Taal Heritage Village rivals Vigan for the best-preserved relics of the Spanish colonial era. Attractions in the village include Leon Apacible Historical Landmark, Marcela Marino Agoncillo Museum and Monument, the Basilica of San Martin de Tours and the Church of Our Lady of Caysasay, which houses priceless relics of the colonial period.

〇Anilao is the main departure point for some of the mosrt spectacular dive sites in the Philippines. These incloude Ligpo Island, Caban Cove, Sombrero Island, Batalan, Merriel's Rock and Verde Island. Other natural attractions of the province are the white sand shores of Gerthel Hugon, Matabungkay Beaches and Calijon Falls. Nasugbu is popular seaside resort area. The recent discovery of the remains of the Spanish Gelleon "San Diego," which yielded priceless artifacts such as Ming Dynasty jars, is regarded as one of the most important archeological finds of the 1990's.
